TATA IPL 2025 Player retentions list announced

The Player Retention window for the IPL 2025 season was officially closed on October 31, 2024, with all the 10 franchisees completing their most important troops before the highly expected Mega auction. A total of 46 players have been retained in the teams, the franchise has invested a joint INR 558.5 crore to secure their leading players.
With a wage cover of INR 120 crore, each is allowed to create a 25-player squad, which maintains up to six players through retention or right-to-match (RTM). retention rules allow a maximum of five capped international players and two uncapped Indian players per team.
The defending masters Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and the first season winner Rajasthan Royals (RR) have used their full retention quota, with six players to be placed each. Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Gujarat Titans (GT), Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Mumbai Indians (MI) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) maintained each. The remaining teams –Delhi Couts (DC), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), and Punjab Kings (PBK) retained four, three and two players respectively.
With an INR 110.5 crore budget, Punjab Kings enter the mega auction with the largest remaining purse, giving them a strong position to make major signings.
